On Thursday, March 1^st,, 2012 at 6PM we will resume our Parenting Seminars. This is free and open to the public

Topic: “Discipline in Your Family.”

Discipline is not just knowing what to do when your child does something wrong. It is about setting the right tone with your children so when they do need correction, it can be done clearly, easily and effectively. We will discuss key principles for discipline and address issues with strong-willed children.

Legacy Montessori School provides these seminars as a free service to the community. Please let your friends know. Free child care will be provided.

We’ve Moved!

Perfecting Gross Motor Skills in our outdoor classroom

I’m sitting in my office looking out through my window and into my assistant Carol’s office. We have finally moved! In fact, we have been operating at this new site since last Tuesday, July 5.

The past month has been crazily busy but we are now enjoying the fruit of our labor. The classrooms now have new floors and are set up beautifully.

My Favorite part of being at the new site has been watching the children doing their morning exercises and sports games in the courtyard, also known as our Outdoor Classroom. Our courtyard has fresh green grass around a large wood deck. The most charming aspect of it is the large tree that shades half of the courtyard throughout the day. It is so inviting I want to just put a hammock out and take a nap there in the middle of the afternoon.

So, what’s next?

We’re planning for our Grand Opening Celebration on August 20 (mark the date.) This will be a time of celebration and dedication. We want to thank all the people who played a part in making this move a success and want to dedicate the school to the service and glory of God.

The Dawn of a New Era!

It started with a seed, an idea and vision of the future we wished to see for our children: Godly men and women of integrity and excellence fulfilling their God-ordained callings in life. A couple of scripture helped us bring our vision into focus:

Do you see a man who excels in his work?
He will stand before kings;
He will not stand before unknown men.
(Proverbs 22:29)

and

He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
(Psalm 1:3)

Our values have not only withstood the test of time, they have matured from a tiny seed of faith into a tree in full bloom. The natural progression was to articulate our new identity, a new life springing forth from our roots, planted nearly a decade ago. Retaining values and legacy, we have come to the point of yielding the fruit of our children’s future: Cornerstone Christian Montessori School has grown into LEGACY MONTESSORI SCHOOL.

We hope you’ll take some time to enjoy our new website and familiarize yourself with our new identity.
